Mission fair fun
The Mission Fair was held on Thursday 15 October. It was such a great day for the students to have some fun with their classmates and teachers. There were activities for everyone including Crazy Hair Stations, Temporary Tattoos, Teacher Toss, Ms Rostirolla’s Rockin’ Rocks and three inflatables. As you can see from the photos the students enjoyed every second. A big thank you to all the students and staff who helped man the stations and keep everything rolling.

Helena Reitano – Year 3 Teacher
reef guardian news
Before the end of term 3, some of the Reef Guardian members designed and planted what they called, an edible forest in the fairy garden. They chose spinach, lettuce and carrots to plant and just look at them now! The Prep, Year One and Two student’s delight in hiding the fairies amongst the tall vegetables. It is nearly time to harvest the forest and they have an idea to sell their produce to the teacher’s so that they can buy more seedlings to plant. Clever little innovators.
With the success of STEM club last term, many children from the younger grades were eager to participate at lunch time. They asked and we have delivered! All children now have the opportunity to be a part of STEM club.
The Year 5/6’s who participated last term have been teaching the Year 4’s how to code the new robots (Dash and Dot) and have been completing different challenges. The Year 5/6’s have also started to learn how to code other new robots (Spheros). The Prep-Year 3’s have been completing challenges using the BEEBOT robots. This is a great opportunity to work and learn with others from different grades and have fun!
This week’s challenge for all students was to code the robot to move 2m whilst making left and right turns throughout the sequence. There was a lot of maths involved with this using measurement and angles.
