PARENT INVOLVEMENT

​GENERAL
Your involvement in your child’s education is actively encouraged, as it is an exciting time of development and growth for them. At the beginning of the year, parents have the opportunity to indicate a preferred area of involvement in the life of the school.
Some of the ways you can be involved in sharing this time with us are:
  • Assisting by listening to a group reading or Rotational Groups (speak to your classroom teacher to find out how to get involved).
  • Attend parent Information sessions and Parent/Teacher Interviews.
  • Be involved with Parents’ and Friends’ Association (P&F).
  • Read the newsletter, which is published every Friday.
  • Visit the school website on www.sfxmrok.catholic.edu.au
  • Volunteer your help in the Tuckshop.
  • Follow our Facebook page
  • Read to Rover (use of dogs to assist reluctant readers)

PARENTS & FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
St Francis Xavier School has an active P&F Association, which offers support to the school particularly in regards to funding and community building. Meetings are led by an elected Executive Committee approximately six times a year. The association needs a good number of willing people prepared to assist the school community in various activities and functions. Parents are encouraged to attend meetings.

SCHOOL BOARD
Our School Board, provides very strong support to our community in terms of maintaining policies as well as the integrity and special religious character of St Francis Xavier. It is made up of school administrators, parents, staff members and members of our parish. Parents are welcome to take up any opportunities made available to learn about the goals and functions of our School Board and ultimately contributing to our school community through membership of the Board.
