AUSTRALIAN CURRICULUM
At St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School, our program for Prep - 6, lays the foundations for life-long learning. It is designed with future citizens in mind, who are competent, creative, innovate and contribute positively to society. A combination of discrete and integrated lessons, ensure that skills and knowledge from cross all key Learning Areas in the Australian Curriculum, as endorsed by Rockhampton Catholic Education Office, are incorporated into the program.
Our English program provides a coherent and cumulative body of knowledge that assists students in communicating effectively in a globally recognised language. The English program incorporates purposeful enquiries about how language works. Students will gain skills and knowledge in speaking and listening, reading and viewing and writing and creating.
Our Mathematics program aims to develop student competency and confidence in numeracy skills. Thinking, reasoning and working mathematically are the essential skills developed at all grade levels and students are encouraged to pose problems, apply strategies and reflect on the learning taking place as a core subject.
