STUDENT PROTECTION
“Protecting Children is Everybody’s Business - Play Your Part”
At St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School, keeping children safe is a priority. We educate the students on matters of cyber-safety and who to go to if your personal safety is threatened. Added support is given by our brilliant adopt-a-cop, Senior Sergeant Tony Lee. There are posters in learning areas identifying the Student Protection Officers (see below). We invite Sergeant Nigel Dalton to speak to the Year 4, 5 and 6 children about cyber-safety. Our Year 3 children attend a Safety Circus performance and the whole school participates in the Daniel Morecombe curriculum.
Below are links to a number of resources for your perusal on child protection. These documents are also in the school office. I would urge parents to take time to discuss this issue with the children.
STUDENT PROTECTION OFFICERS
All children have the right to feel safe all of the time and nothing is ever so awful that they can’t talk about it with someone.
At our school, we have many people who will support students with personal issues that may relate to family or other areas of life. Miss Olivia Rostirolla, Miss Mary Oxenham, Mrs Amanda Griffin, Mr Brendan Clews, Mrs Ninette Nell and Miss Angela Mackenzie(OSHC) have special roles as Student Protection Officers, to support and protect children.
