BUS TRANSPORT ASSISTANCE
he Non-Government Schools Transport Assistance Scheme, funded by the State Government, provides financial assistance to families whose children have been assessed as being eligible for travel assistance to attend an approved non-state school. The NGSTAS consists of two programs:

General Eligibility Guidelines Applicable to both programs
Student travel rebate applications are only open in May for Semester 1 and October for Semester 2.

Parents or carers of eligible students submit their application for each semester using the online forms in May and October of each year.
If you are unable to agree with any of the above confirmations, your application will not be accepted. Applications received outside of the months of May and October will not be accepted. Students must reside in Queensland and be eligible.
Students with Disabilities Transport Assistance Program General Eligibility Guidelines
In addition to the general eligibility requirements, a student must:
- The Bus Fare Assistance Program (BFAP) - Weekly family threshold for Semester 1 2023 is $35 ($25 for concession card holders)
- The Students with Disabilities (SWD) Transport

Students with Disabilities Transport Assistance Program General Eligibility Guidelines
In addition to the general eligibility requirements, a student must:
- Was your child included on the latest Commonwealth Census as a student with a disability requiring supplementary, substantial or extensive adjustments?
- Does your child’s Personalised Learning Plan confirm their transport needs are demonstrably different to those of their same aged peers by reason of their disability?
- Has your school’s learning support teacher assessed your child’s Travel Capability Rating as ‘semi-independent’ or more dependent?
