There are many opportunities for students at St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School to engage in sport. Each week a specialist teacher will deliver a 45 min lesson to work on developing specific skills and knowledge of fundamental movement and participation in team sport.

Year 4-6 students also have opportunities to try-out for our school netball and football teams in various local and Catholic School competitions. Gala days are held throughout the year to provide all students within the appropriate age levels to come and have a go at the sport on offer.

Students who are exceptional athletes in their field of sport are also provided opportunities to trial for the Southern Suburbs Representative Team. This team then goes on to trial for the Mackay and District Team. If students are chosen they then compete at Capricornia trials and then State Titles should they progress this far.
